WHATS NEW FOR 2023

WHATS NEW FOR 2023

Throughout the 2022 season we have been talking and listening to our Riders from each class and Myself and the team have been working tirelessly since the end of the season to try and implement as many of the suggestions put forward as possible to help improve the championship in the areas that were highlighted by riders inputs.

We will never get it 100% right for everybody but please be assured we will always keep trying to improve and keep moving forward.

2023 CALENDAR

Below is the confirmed 2023 Rich Energy British Mini Bikes Calendar.

8 Rounds at 8  different Circuits across the UK.

In a bid to keep overall costs, inc travel etc, down, we have kept the amount of rounds down to 8 which are to be held between the months of April & October.

NEW EVENT FORMATS

We have adapted the event formats based on feedback from both senior and junior riders. The majority of Juniors preferred to have one of the races on Saturday and 2 longer races on Sunday where the senior riders preferred the 3 shorter races on Sunday with the option to also qualify on Sunday to allow them the chance to keep costs down by doing just one day.

JUNIOR FORMAT

The Format is designed to maximise track time . It also allows some breathing time to help recover from Redflag issues etc with minimum effect on races.

THE NEW MINI GP CLASS STRUCTURE

With the reduced entry levels for the Ohvale  classes in 2022 it is no longer viable to run them as a separate grid, So until entry levels increase the Ohvale classes will be run within  a new Mini GP Class Structure with the Ohvale Cup riders having the option to score seperate points towards their championships. The new classes are as follows.

POLICING CONTROLLED CLASSES

INCREASED DYNO CHECKING

The trackside dyno testing will this year will continue to be by Race Dyno Services.

We will be stepping up the amount of bikes that are sent to the Dyno after each Race & Qualifying for compliance testing, including the Fastest lap and /or a Random from both Group A and B Classes which means we will be effectively testing the front, middle and back of the grids over a race weekend.

REMOUNT AFTER FALL

Although this rule was put into practice for 2022 for all the right reasons, it was met with massive negativity by the riders. Therefore for 2023 you will now be allowed to remount your vehicle as long as it is safe to do so.

NO MINIMUM QUALIFICATION LEVEL FOR JSM 90 CLASS

We feel that in 2022 we approached this from the wrong angle by retsricting riders to only those that qualified within 125% of the pole time set.

The class will be called the JSM 90 Development class.

The class is in its design there to allow a safe environment for new entrants into the sport and develop the skills to progress though our championships.

Once a rider achieves top 3 status at season end they would need to move on to the 110 class as expressed in the rules.

For riders that want to do a second class we will allow this as it does make a logical next step however this will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

For any exception to this format parents can raise a request via BMB messenger and will be considered by the BMB Team who will review cases as we recognise that from time to a situation lands between the gaps as in your case.

We think this will allow this class now to do as intended and help nurture new riders into the sport.

LIMIT ON PROTEST TIME

To aid the smooth running and to speed up both trophy presentations and updates on championship points the following will apply.

Protests by riders or their team regarding another riders compliance to the class technical or championship regulations need to be lodged with one of the organising team within 15 mins of the end of the race or before the chequered flag drops on the following race in the schedule, whichever comes first.

This will allow us to not only present a trophy for each race but also more importantly update the championship table at the end of the event.

NEW MEMBERSHIP, ENTRY & PADDOCK COMUNICATION SYSTEM

We have teamed up with Trackentries systems to provide a state of the art Membership & Entry control system that fully integrates with our website and the Mylaps / Speedhive timing systems.

They will provide us with our own custom built App that allows all riders to look at the event schedules, updates , live timing and notifications on the day. It also allows race control to notify riders, classes or the whole paddock of penalties, calls to race direction or changes in schedule.

THE WHOLE RICH ENERGY BMB TEAM IS VERY EXCITED FOR THE 2023 SEASON TO GET UNDERWAY AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT ROUND 1 – TEESIDE
