HOW THE EVENTS WILL RUN

These events are meant to be FUN but also safe. Please make sure you adhere to the following at all times.

  • RIDER SIGN ON– Will open 1 Hour before qualifying commences (each member of the team MUST sign the entry form at race control). You will require 1 * BMB Tag Heuere Transponder per Team and as many fixing clips as you have bikes racing. (if none of your team are BMB Members you can hire a transponder for £10 for the event and buy the extra clips for £5 each)

  • QUALIFYING – Each member of the team needs to post a time during the qualifying session. The fastest lap posted by the team will determine the grid position for the start of the race.

  • GRIDDING UP – Race control will call you to grid up in the holding area. 1 team Member must hold the bike in your qualifying position and the first rider for the team must stand directly opposite their bike on the other side of the holding area. The Holder MUST NOT start the bike only the Rider can start the engine. Failure to observe this will result in a 5 lap penalty.

  • THE ENDURANCE RACE – Once everyone is in position you will be placed under starters orders. The starter will be placed at the front and middle of the grid. They will Hold the Flag High in the air and proceed to the side of the circuit. When he drops the flag the rider must run to their bike, start it and begin to race. During the Start the Holder MUST remain against the side of the holding area and not impede other riders. It is a race to the end. Once the chequered flag has dropped please complete your lap and then proceed back into the holding area.

  • PIT STOPS One of the key features of endurance racing is the Pit Stops. It is up to each team to decide when they call in their riders for a pit stop to refuel, change riders and Transponder etc. Each venue will have a designated Pit Stop / area clearly marked out. At the marked line you must get OFF your bike, STOP the engine and PUSH it to the holding area. You must then if swapping bikes remove your team transponder and refit it to the bike that is about to go out. The bike must then be PUSHED to the clearly marked exit line where the rider can then START the bike and proceed out onto track observing the pitlane marshalls instructions.  Only the current rider and the rider replacing them can be in this holding area. If using 1 bike or just refuelling  at a pit stop the Bike MUST remain within the Pit Stop Area. It goes without saying that this area is a NO SMOKING ZONE. Failure to observe the above rules will result in either a 5 lap penalty or exclusion as they are designed for every ones safety.

  • SPECTATORS / TEAM MEMBERS– Must refrain from entering the Holding areas and Pit Stop areas at all times as bikes will be entering and leaving these areas throughout the event.

  • LAPPING An endurance race is very very rarely won by one overtaking manoeuvre. We will place the emphasis on the rider coming around to lap another rider to do this in a safe and fair manner. At the same time we expect the lapped rider to keep to their lines and not hinder the overtaking team.

  • CLASSES – There are 2 classes this year Stock and Open. STOCK = any bike that complies with the BMB 2017 Stock 140 or Stock 160 Class regulations and OPEN = Any bike that complies with either the BMB 2017 PB Open or Honda CRF150/110 class regulations.  If 1 of your team use an Open class bike your team will be classed as OPEN regardless of whether the rest of the bikes in the team are Stock.
